Our History

The Fair's Fair report on violence and abuse in Sydney LGBT relationships was launched on 30th May 2007 by The Hon Clover Moore MP at NSW Parliament House. The Hon Verity Firth MP, the NSW Minister for Women, Stevie Clayton the former CEO of ACON and Brad Gray, ACON's Education Manager also spoke at the launch.

In 2009 the Interagency was invited to contribute a chapter to the book  Intimate Partner Violence in LGBTQ lives Editored by Janice L. Ristock.

The chapter explores our work and our purpose to raise awareness and reduce incidents of domestic violence in same sex relationships. The projects led by the Interagency have been groundbreaking in bringing LGBTIQ domestic and family violence out of the closet and making the community aware that it does exists in our communities. The chapter discusses our strengths as well as our challenges, and will be useful for those seeking to establish and maintain a successful collaborative program devoted to addressing the issue of LGBTIQ DFV in their community, whilst being made aware of potential hurdles they might face.
