sex domestic violence is increasingly being seen as an important issue in
the gay and lesbian communities. As information about same sex domestic
violence increases the demands on a wide range of services will also increase.
Services such as the police and courts, domestic violence and sexual assault
services, women's health centres, general health services and gay and lesbian
community groups are all likely to experience a growth in demand from gay
men and lesbians. These pages are designed to help you and your service better understand same sex domestic violence and therefore provide the best possible help and support to gay men, lesbians and their friends and families. Information, reading and upcoming events will be updated regularly. 2009 SSDV Conference: Perspectives and ProgressWe are now seeking abstracts for the SSDV Conference 2009: 'Perspectives and Progress' . In 2007, the Same Sex Domestic Violence Interagency hosted the second conference on same sex domestic violence (SSDV) in NSW. The 2009 Conference will build on this foundation to consider emerging issues, as well as look at how we can move forward to ensure a better response to Attendane registrations will open in July and registraton forms will be available here on this website.
